986 Pharmacy was established in 2014 as a group of independent pharmacy organizations under 986 Degrees Corporation. Our first pharmacy location opened in 2015 in the city of La Verne, California. Since then we have opened seven additional retail 986 Pharmacy in Southern California. In addition to our retail pharmacies, we have four 986 Specialty Pharmacy in Southern California, Nevada and Texas. We also offer infusion medication services at our specialized Infusion Pharmacy, which opened in 2017, in the city of Anaheim, CA. Our expansion allows our pharmacies to reach more patients to offer not just retail pharmacy but offer specialty medication and compounding.

Our pharmacists have extensive clinical training and friendly staff will always take the time to address your needs and provide customized personal solution for your specific needs. Our stores maximize speed and offer free delivery for your convenience to make it that much easier. Our Team

With their years of experience in the health and legal profession, the founders of 986 Pharmacy came together to cultivate a concept of improving the health, wellness and quality of life through high quality pharmacy services that ensure optimal therapy outcomes.

Ken Thai, Pharm.D.

Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Ken Thai co-founded 986 Pharmacy in July 2014. He is the CEO and serves on its Board of Directors. Dr. Thai earned his Doctoral from USC School of Pharmacy and went on to complete his residency in community pharmacy practice. He has over 20 years of pharmacy experience in independent pharmacy setting, out-patient pharmacy as well as long term care. Currently he is also the immediate-Past President of the California Pharmacists Association and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at USC School of Pharmacy and Western University of Health Sciences teaching students on entrepreneurship. Dr. Thai currently owns and operates multiple independent pharmacies specializing in retail, long term care, compounding, infusion, and specialty throughout Southern California and Nevada.

Brian Garner, Pharm.D.

Co-Founder, Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Brian Garner is the Chief Financial Officer and is a co-founder of 986 Pharmacy. He currently serves on the board of directors. Dr. Garner oversees the accounting, financial planning and analysis for 986 Degrees Corporation. Dr. Garner is a graduate of USC School of Pharmacy and has spent his last 17 years as a managing pharmacist and an owner at his pharmacy in Claremont, CA. He is also the owner of multiple independent pharmacies in Southern California specializing in retail and long term care.

Sally Chan, Esq.

Co-Founder, Vice President of Compliance

Sally Chan is a co-founder of 986 Pharmacy and currently serves on the board of directors. Ms. Chan is the Vice President of Compliance and oversees the compliance within the company. Previously, Ms. Chan founded West Themis Law, A Professional Corporation in 2008 and is currently the managing law partner.  West Themis Law primarily practices business, real estate, and employment litigation. Ms. Chan earned her law degree from UC Hastings College of the Law.

Henry Chang, Pharm.D.

Co-Founder

Dr. Henry Chang is a co-founder of 986 Pharmacy and currently serves on the board of directors. Dr. Chang earned his Doctoral degree from USC School of Pharmacy and has pharmacy experience for more than 20 years. He has pharmacy ownership in independent pharmacies specializing in retail and long term care.

Vijay Amarshi

Co-Founder

Vijay Amarshi is a co-founder of 986 Pharmacy and currently serves on the board of directors. Mr. Amarshi previously founded PCYNE, a digital marketing company which provided information via digital signage to hospitals and schools.

986 is not registered as a franchise in states that require a registration.  If you are located in a state that does not require franchise registration and is interested in opening in those states, please feel free to contact us about potential franchises.
